On-Camera w. Corey Parker (LA)

Corey Parker, an acclaimed actor in his own right (IMDb), has trained actors on and off Broadway, on TV, and in film for 20 years. He has coached Annaleigh Ashford, Sean Combs, Scoot McNairy, Patrick Dempsey, and many more. Corey is a graduate of the High School of Performing Arts in New York. He attended NYU. Corey studied with Uta Hagen, Susan Batson, Sandra Seacat, and many others. He is a lifetime member of the Actors Studio and the Ensemble Studio Theatre.

Corey starred in the Steppenwolf Theater Company’s Tony-winning production of ORPHANS, and has appeared on Broadway at the St. James, Off Broadway at the Public Theater in NYC where he worked with Joseph Papp, at Circle Rep where he worked with Lanford Wilson, and at the Ensemble Studio Theater with playwright Richard Greenberg. Corey worked under the direction of Herbert Berghof at the HB Playwrights Foundation on Bank Street. In Los Angeles he performed with Tom Hulce at the Mark Taper Forum and at the Coronet. He’s also worked extensively in film and television, including thirtysomething and Will & Grace. His films include “Biloxi Blues” with Mike Nichols.

As an actor (and an extremely talented one), Corey understands the challenges every actor faces. He brings his 35 years of acting, coaching, and teaching experience, with a deep professional commitment, love of the craft, and acute sensitivity and talent to every moment of the work. He has the amazing ability to get actors to produce personal, truthful, bold work. He’s insightful, nurturing, and skilled in helping actors bring their personal story to the narrative in the most authentic and powerful way. Working with their full instrument, Corey engages with each actor to find a place of deep investment, clear need, and the strongest choices from a place of caring and conviction. He guides actors to get out of their head and into their body, out of their own way and into the relationships in the world of the play. And he does it with love and expertise. Corey changes the way actors work forever.
